• We are looking for Cobourg Public Library members who like to read and who would like to share their favourite books with the community, by creating a special Kid Librarian book display.
• Ages 6 to 12 years. Youth Services Department
• How To Apply:
  • Submit an online application form: 
  • https://forms.cobourg.ca/Library/Kid-Librarian-Application.
• The application will ask for your name, age, contact information, when you are available to create a display, and for a list of some of the junior fiction, junior non-fiction or junior picture book titles that you would like to share.
• Applicants will be randomly selected to become the next Kid Librarian.

You may be required to Login to some of these sites. You will need to enter your Library Card # (without spaces), and if asked for a PIN#, enter the last 4-digits of your phone number.

CBC Kids Corner

• CBC Corner has tons of safe, educational and entertaining content for children and youth of all ages including tv shows, free online games, fun quizzes and activities as well as news articles made by kids for kids.
• As a parent, you will also find cool and simple crafts ideas, healthy recipes, and easy ways to learn through play!

Fiero Code - NEW!

• A self-guided online software program that teaches youth (ages 8 to 18 years) how to code through hundreds of coding tutorials and dozens of real-world projects.
• A gamified learning experience ― as youth progress through the activities, they will earn clothes and accessories for their personal avatar within the software.
• Youth can learn to build websites, video games, apps, animations, and programs, while using the programing languages of HTML, CSS, Javascript, Python, Scratch, and SQL.

Frontier Life

• A digital collection of primary sources including material from the Hudson Bay Archives and the Glenbow Archives.
• It is designed to enrich teaching and research, examining settlement, existence and interactions at the edge of the Anglophone world from 1650-1920.

• A kid-safe, advertisement-free, media platform that is easily accessible, providing educational content with a focus on early literacy to the early learner.  
• These videos are sure to entertain, educate and inspire young patrons.

Glitter Snow Globe - Take & Make - Bewdley and Gores Landing Branches

• Available starting November 1st - During Branch Hours

• Drop-in for assistance with your social media accounts, device setup and more.
• Kindly note that there may be a bit of a wait depending on the volume of interest. Remember to bring the tech you need help with.

• November 29th - The Cobourg Ecology Gardeners present speaker, Kelsey Jibb, owner of Cold Springs Flower Farm to speak about gardening and climate change.
• December 6th - Join Sandra Dee, Professional Eldercare Planner, as she shares insights on leveraging local resources, aging options, and in-home safety strategies for prolonged independence as we age.
• December 13th - Join us on safari and meet a variety of exotic creatures from around the globe! The 8-10 animal-lineup focuses on our smaller exotic animals such as exotic birds, mammals and reptiles from Hands On Exotics.

Book and Item Donations on Hold for Now

• We would like to thank our community who have supported our Library by donating their gently used books and other items.
• We have simply been overwhelmed with books, movies, music and other items, and we cannot possibly accept any more donations until next year.
• Please check back with us in February 2025 for updates of when we will resume accepting book donations
