Adult Skate is a drop-in recreational skate for adults 18 years and older. |
Public Skate: |
Drop-in recreational skate is for people of all ages. |
Stick & Puck: |
Stick & Puck is a drop-in recreational skate for parents and guardians to help children practice and develop skating, stick handling and passing skills in a non-competitive environment.
Stick and Puck is available in two age categories:
- Children aged six and under
- Children aged seven to 12

Shinny Hockey: |
Shinny Hockey is a non-competitive, non-contact, informal drop-in hockey program.
Shinny Hockey is available in three program categories.
Please check the drop-in skating schedule to ensure you attend the appropriate shinny program for you.

Ability Skate: |
Ability Skate is a drop-in recreational skate open to people with physical or developmental disabilities and their families, caregivers, or support workers. The caregiver/support worker may attend free of charge (one support worker per participant).
Skate admission standards apply.

- Power skating, speed skating and figure skating
- Multiplayer games (tag/races)

CSA-approved hockey helmets are mandatory for children five years of age or younger.
- Only people wearing skates are allowed on the ice.
- Skate at a sensible and safe speed in the same direction as other skaters; backward skating is not allowed.

The middle of the ice surface is available for children and less confident skaters.

Children under eight years of age must be supervised by someone 14 years of age or older.
The following activities/equipment are not allowed on the ice:
- Carrying children (including baby carriers)
- Hockey pucks and sticks
- Headphones, cell phones or hand-held electronics
- Food or drink
- Rough play, speed and figure skating, and multiplayer games (tag/races)
- Foul language or inappropriate behaviour
Wheelchairs, strollers and skating aids
- Wheelchairs, adaptive strollers, and pushchairs with clean wheels are allowed on the ice during public skates and must be accompanied by a responsible person who is wearing skates.
- CSA-approved hockey helmets are required for wheelchair users five years of age or younger.
- Municipal skate aids are not provided during drop-in skating programs. Participants who require skating assistance may bring an approved skate aid for their personal use.
- PLEASE NOTE - the use of Strollers, chairs and homemade devices as skating aids is strongly discouraged.

- Parents/Guardians must accompany their children on the ice, wearing skates and a CSA-approved hockey helmets
- CSA-approved hockey helmets are mandatory for children.
- Skate at a sensible and safe speed to ensure a safe experience for everyone on the ice.
- Please be mindful of others when you are shooting pucks.
- Children must have a hockey stick.
- Hockey nets are provided.
- Strollers are not permitted on the ice during Stick and Puck.

CSA-approved helmets and full equipment are mandatory for all players and goalies.

Full facial mask protection/cage is required for all Youth Shinny age groups.

Equipment rentals are not available.
- Goalies in full equipment play for free.
- Shinny is not intended for organized teams. Referees are not provided.
- No body-checking is allowed.

Please keep the spirit of the game enjoyable, and remember it is only for fun.
