Welcome to our Ice Programs that are offered at the Cobourg Community Centre in our pond arena. These programs provide children and youth the opportunity to get out on the ice and learn to skate, or learn to play hockey. All levels are welcomed!

Learn to Skate - Child |
Boys and Girls ages 4-12
Learn to skate in small classes with additional CCC Instructors and Volunteers, which encourage children to try skating and learn the basics at their own pace. Children are put into groups based on their skill/age when they arrive at their first lesson.

Parent/Child Learn to Skate |
Boys and Girls ages 3-9 Encourages parent participation in their child's skating education! A CCC Instructor will guide parents/guardians on ice, through beginner skills to help their child learn the basics of skating. Program is focused on building confidence in the child and improving their balance and comfort on ice. **All participants (parents/guardians included) must wear skates and CSA approved hockey helmets during the program. Parents/Guardians should be comfortable on ice with their child to participate. |
Learn to Play Hockey - Child |
Boys and Girls ages 4-10 A great program that introduces kids to the world of hockey! Each session includes opportunities for children to improve their skating, passing, shooting and scoring skills!
*Participants MUST be able to skate independently, before entering this program.

Power Skating *Not Currently Running |
8-11.
A program based ENTIRELY on skating skills. Pucks are used minimally, as we focus on pure skating technique and improving speed. Great for kids who play organized hockey, as it is a very fast paced program. Skills and Skating *Not Currerntly Running

The focus of the Skills and Skating Program is to provide athletes with the proper age appropriate training model. Skaters will have the opportunity to improve their speed, power, agility, posture and endurance. Drills, shooting, and passing will be incorporated over the session. The specificity of the training sessions will increase the players technical proficiency and confidence with their skills.
**Please note - these sessions are designed for athletes with playing / skating experience. It is recommended all participants have at least one full year of playing experience at a minimum. |
Each child enrolled in the Learn to Play Hockey program is required to have full equipment for this program. This ensures not only their safety but the safety of the other children out on the ice.
