The Cobourg Public Library welcomed a Cobourg Community Fridge on Dec. 30 in the lobby of the library. As of Jan. 3, the apartment-size fridge has been fully stocked with donated fruits and vegetables; staples such as milk, bread, and juice; and heat-and-serve dishes and other items. This big-hearted community effort has helped make a difference for those facing hunger in our community.
The community fridge is managed by Local Food for Local Good and the library was a first choice because it's open seven days a week, is a warming location and welcomes all. We are pleased to be a part of this collaborative community effort to make sure everyone in the community has access to the nutritious food they may not otherwise be able to afford.
