Cobourg, ON (January 7, 2025) – The Northumberland Central Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Cobourg are pleased to open nominations for the 22^nd Annual Business Achievement Awards today for a six-week period. 

These Business Achievement Awards have recognized hundreds of outstanding businesses and individuals from the Town of Cobourg and the Townships of Hamilton and Alnwick/Haldimand.

“I am always amazed at the Business Achievement Awards by the breadth of entrepreneurship in our community. The awards are a wonderful opportunity for businesses to showcase the work they are doing and the successes they have had in a wide variety of industries. It’s an event that makes me proud of my neighbours in the business community and inspired by their stories,” said Alison Lester, Chair of the Northumberland Central Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors and Co-Chair of the Business Achievement Awards Committee. 

To qualify for the Business Achievement Awards, nominated businesses must be located and in operation in the Town of Cobourg, the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand or the Township of Hamilton for a minimum of two years (except for those in the “New Start Up” category). Businesses receiving a minimum of three independent nominations will proceed to the second stage of the judging process. Businesses cannot nominate themselves.

Businesses can be nominated in the following categories:

• Business and Consumer Services
• Communications and Digital Media Technology
• Health, Wellness and Beauty
• Hospitality and Tourism
• Manufacturing & Agribusiness
• New Start-Up (Opened January 1, 2023 to January 1, 2024)
• Non-Profit
• Retail Trade
• Skilled Trades

In addition to the above categories, the committee will recognize the recipients of the William Crossen Young Professional’s Award, the Town of Cobourg Mayor's Award and the Chamber Chair's Award during the ceremony.

Employees of the Northumberland Central Chamber of Commerce and the Corporation of the Town of Cobourg are not eligible for nomination.

Nomination Deadline: The public is encouraged to submit their business nominations by Tuesday, February 18, 2025. The nomination form is available online at https://nccofc.ca.

The Business Achievement Awards Ceremony takes place on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the Best Western PLUS Cobourg Inn & Convention Centre.
