Cobourg, ON (February 13, 2025) – The Town of Cobourg would like to advise residents of municipal closures and local activities being planned for this weekend, due to the Family Day holiday.

Municipal Closures on Monday, February 17, 2025 (Family Day), include:

• Victoria Hall (55 King Street West): Building is open from 12-4 p.m. All municipal offices are closed.
• Victoria Hall Box Office, closed for in person ticket purchases. Tickets are available online at ExperienceCobourg.ca. 
• Venture13 Innovation & Entrepreneurship Centre (739 D’Arcy Street)
• Building 7 Public Works will be closed, however on-call staff can be reached for emergencies by calling the after-hours number: 905-372-9971.
• Cobourg Public Library (200 Ontario Street)

Cobourg Transit will be running on its regular schedule on Monday, February 17.

Rotary Harbourfront Outdoor Skating Rink (35 Albert Street) | Monday, February 17, 3-7 p.m.
Experience Cobourg is pleased to present the Town of Cobourg’s Family Day in Cobourg at the Rotary Harbourfront Rink. Hop on a horse-drawn wagon ride, enjoy free skating with a live DJ spinning tunes, and soak in the magical winter lights. End the evening with a breathtaking fireworks show at 7 p.m.

Family Day Festival

Free Family Fishing
Ontario Family Fishing Events is a province-wide opportunity for Canadian residents to fish Ontario waters without the otherwise mandatory fishing version outdoors card. The Ontario Government has designated four periods throughout the year as license-free Family Fishing, Family Day Weekend fishing will run from February 15-17, 2025. Try Curling

The West Northumberland Curling Club (WNCC) hosts a Family Day event at the Jack Heenan Arena with two sessions for all ages of the community to try curling. The sessions will run 2-3 p.m. and 3:30-4:30 p.m. Those wishing to come and try curling are asked to register in advance by emailing the club at operations@wncc.ca. Please provide the number of members within your group and register before Saturday February 15, 2025.

Cobourg Cougars
Cobourg Community Centre (750 D'Arcy Street) | Monday, February 17, 7 p.m.
Cheer on our home OJHL hockey team, the Cobourg Cougars, as they face the Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Kids 12 years and under get in free when wearing a jersey and accompanied by an adult. Tickets are available online at www.cobourgcougars.com and at the gate.
