Cobourg, ON (February 11, 2022) – The Town of Cobourg would like to inform residents that some municipal buildings will be closed on Monday, February 21, 2022 (Family Day), and that Conventional and WHEELS Transit will not be operational except for pre-scheduled dialysis appointments.
Municipal Closures on Monday, February 21, 2022, include:
- Victoria Hall (55 King Street West)
- Venture13 Innovation & Entrepreneurship Centre (739 D’Arcy Street)
- Art Gallery of Northumberland (55 King Street West, Third Floor, West Wing)
- Cobourg Public Library (200 Ontario Street)
Safe and Fun Family Day Activities
There are many safe and fun activities to participate in on Family Day, including:
- Go skating at the Rotary Harbourfront Outdoor Rink
- Take a walk to see the Cobourg Love Locks
- Lace up for the Family Day Skate at the Cobourg Community Centre’s Bowl arena from 11-12:30 p.m. ($2 per person or $5 per family, vaccination QR code with a piece of valid ID required for ages 12 and over)
- Visit the Cobourg Public Library for an outdoor Family Day Book Walk
- Go for a public swim at the Northumberland YMCA
- Support our local shops and eateries
- Check out the free Family Day Festival at Fellowship Baptist Church (outdoors) 469 Elgin Street West, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Take one of the Experience Cobourg Heritage Walking Tours
- Cheer on the Cobourg Cougars in a home game vs. Caledon, 7-9:30 p.m. at the Cobourg Community Centre (doors open at 6:30 p.m.)
- Join in the Five Counties Children's Centre Winterfest February 18-21
- Paint pottery at Crock A Doodle, 169 Division Street (reservations recommended, to-go kits also available)
