Join us on November 22 to kick off the holiday season
Cobourg, ON (November 14, 2024) – The Town of Cobourg Community Services Division is thrilled to announce the return of the annual Christmas Magic free outdoor light festival, kicking off on Friday, November 22.
The evening will be filled with wonder and joy as we light up Cobourg for the holiday season. This year’s event includes the new addition of an outdoor Holiday Market in Rotary Harbourfront Park, horse and wagon rides (Albert Street Transit Shelter) and a live music performance by Queen tribute band Scaramouche.
“We’re excited to bring the community together for another year of Christmas Magic,” said Jackie Chapman-Davis, Manager of Culture. “This year’s addition of the outdoor Holiday Market adds a new layer of festive fun, making it a perfect opportunity to find unique gifts, enjoy seasonal treats, and share in the joy of the season.”

Enjoy Christmas Magic
Christmas Magic lights will come to life every evening from November 22 to January 5, with lights on from dusk until 10 p.m. Take your time and enjoy the magic with a variety of displays throughout Rotary Harbourfront Park and Victoria Park including spiral trees, holiday cut-outs for the children, holiday vignettes, reindeer and other festive animals.
Christmas Magic, which began in the early 90s, is one of Cobourg’s most beloved annual community events. This holiday festival of lights is thanks to the hard work and collaboration of the Town of Cobourg departments and amazing community volunteers. Christmas Magic includes more than 200,000 lights in Rotary Harbourfront Park and Victoria Park. The work begins in October each year and takes numerous weeks to complete.
