Cobourg, ON (March 28, 2025) – The Town of Cobourg would like to advise residents that flags across the municipality will be lowered to half-staff in honour of the passing of Ronald Jeschke, Town of Cobourg Information Technology Supervisor.
Ron was a dedicated Town of Cobourg employee for 10 years. During his time with the Town, he assisted with the transformation of Venture13, the modernization of the Town security and information systems and introduction of Wi-Fi at the Marina and Campground. During COVID-19, when the world was forced to pivot to remote work, Ron ensured the continuity of business for the Town of Cobourg. His relentless work ethic, incredible aptitude and never-ending list of jokes made him an invaluable employee and treasured colleague. He will be greatly missed by his many friends.
Ron was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, son and cherished son-in-law. Devoted father of the late Shelby, Cassandra, Katrina and Josh. After losing his adoring wife Jacqueline, Ron dedicated all his spare time to his children. Whether it be driving across Ontario to catch a baseball game or horse race, or putting on elaborate six course meals, Ron exuded love for his children and family every day.
A long-time Cobourg resident, Ron loved this Town and sharing stories of growing up in the close community that is Northumberland County. On behalf of Council and all staff, the Town of Cobourg would like to express our sincere condolences to Ron’s family.
As per the Town of Cobourg flag policy, flags across the corporation will be lowered to half-staff for 72 hours and then lowered again for the day of Ron’s celebration of life which is scheduled for June 18.
