Cobourg, ON (November 18, 2024) – The Town of Cobourg would like to advise residents that incoming and outgoing regular mail will be affected by the current Canada Post labour disruption.
While Canada Post is experiencing a strike, please note the alternative methods for payments below.
Public Meeting Notices
Residents within 120 metres of a proposed development will receive hand-delivered notices of upcoming Statutory Public Meetings, with 20 days’ notice of the set meeting date.
Those who reside outside of the Town of Cobourg but own property within the defined area will have their notices couriered.
Building Permit Payments and Planning Application Payments
Those who have a payment to make will need to visit the Building and Planning Department (2nd floor, Victoria Hall) or utilize a mail courier service.
Vendor Payments and Invoices
The Finance Department is holding a few vendor payments, which may be picked up from the office in Victoria Hall during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
If you are a vendor waiting on payment, you may sign up for electronic funds transfer (EFT). Email accountspayable@cobourg.ca to request an EFT form.

Municipal Law Enforcement and Licensing
You may pay your Parking or By-law Penalty Ticket/Notice, as well as licensing fees, in-person, at the drop-off box, by phone or online.
Please note, those who apply for a dog tag through DocuPet are licensed immediately, however, pet owners will likely experience a delay in receiving their tags by mail.
