Those who have not received a Voter Instruction Letter can still be added to the Voters List
Cobourg, ON (October 14, 2022) – The Town of Cobourg Legislative Services Division would like to inform all residents that the voting period for the 2022 Municipal and School Board elections is officially open.
Residents began to receive their Voter Instruction Letters beginning October 1, 2022, with the final batch scheduled to be mailed out today. These letters include each elector’s unique, Personal Identification Numbers (PIN) as well as instructional information required to vote. Residents who have not yet received their Voter Instruction Letter can confirm they are on the voters list, as well as receive their PIN’s by visiting the Office of the Municipal Clerk and 2022 Elections Returning Officer located at Victoria Hall, 55 King Street West. Eligible voters can still be added to the voters list until October 24, 2022. A reminder that polls close at 8:00pm on the 24th so electors are advised to give themselves enough time to register and vote.
Voting Period:
The voting period is from October 14 – 24, 2022. Voting Day is October 24, 2022. Polls open at 9:00am on October 14th and close at 8:00pm on October 24th.
How to Vote:
Voting in this Municipal Election will be conducted online or by phone, similar to the 2019 elections. Included in each Voter Instruction Letter is a website address for those who would like to vote online as well as a phone number for those who would like to vote by phone. You may also vote in person at a Voter Help Centre Location at Victoria Hall or the Cobourg Public Library.
Every eligible voter must have their Personal Identification Number (PIN) to vote. These PINs are unique to each voter and can only be used once. Your PIN will be provided in your Voter Instruction Letter.
If you have not received your Voter Instruction Letter, you may visit the office of the Municipal Clerk and 2022 Election Returning Officer, at Victoria Hall, 55 King Street West to confirm you are eligible to vote and receive your PIN.

Election Results
Polls will close at 8:00pm on October 24, 2022. Once numbers have been tallied and verified, the Municipal Clerk and 2022 Election Returning Officer will post the results to a projection screen in the Concert Hall at Victoria Hall. All Cobourg residents are invited to attend to view the unofficial results as they are released by the Municipal Clerk. Additionally, the official results will be posted to the Municipal Elections Website, www.cobourgvotes.ca and issued out through a Public Notice pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Elections Act.
