(Issued December 19, 2019 at 3:45 p.m. EST) – The Town of Cobourg would like to advise citizens of the following road closures, transit detours and local traffic only detours along the Cobourg West Harbour due to the upcoming Rogers Hometown Hockey festival weekend occurring on Saturday, January 4th and Sunday, January 5th, 2020.

Beginning on Thursday, January 2 at 7 a.m. to Monday, January 6 at 8 a.m.:

Road Closures include:

• Hibernia Street at Marisa Lane, Third Street at Esplanade, and Orr Street at Hibernia Street

Parking Lot Closures include:

• Esplanade West Parking Lot closed for Event Parking only

Two Way Traffic & Local Traffic Only:

• Esplanade to become two way traffic
• Hibernia at Albert Street – local traffic only will be permitted through
• Third at Albert Street – local traffic only will be permitted through
• Orr Street at Durham Street – local traffic only will be permitted through

Tear Down Details

The Rogers Hometown Hockey crew will begin tear down on Sunday evening as soon as it is safe to do so and will be gone by 4 a.m. that day. Accordingly, citizens close to the site location may hear trucks packing up, as well as forklifts in operation.

Transit Detours Include:

• Route Two will be detouring from Thursday, January 2nd until Sunday, January 5th, missing the Legion Village and Cobourg Marina stops. A temporary stop will be added at the south east corner of Albert Street and Hibernia Street.
