Seeking new committee members to support this noble community event
Cobourg, ON (January 26, 2023) – The Town of Cobourg would like to advise residents that the 2023 Civic Awards ceremony will be taking place on a new date in October this year.
The Town of Cobourg Civic Awards recognizes residents who have helped benefit the community through outstanding volunteerism and community involvement. Now entering its 21st year, the Civic Awards have provided the opportunity to celebrate outstanding members of our community, who, through their exceptional talent, time, and dedication, have enriched our community and made Cobourg a better place for our residents.
Due to the 2022 Election and the reorganization of the Town of Cobourg Committees and Local Boards, the Civic Awards will be postponed until fall of 2023. This year, the Civic Awards will be held on Wednesday, October 18 to coincide with Local Government Week.
Seeking new Committee Members
The Town of Cobourg is currently seeking new members to join the Civic Awards planning committee.This committee begins meeting monthly, starting in April of 2023 and will meet more frequently as the event date approaches.The Civic Award Committee is responsible for the organization of the annual awards gala as well as overseeing the nomination and evaluation of individual award categories.
