Cobourg, ON (December 25, 2022, 10:00am) – Lakefront Utility Services Inc. (LUSI) crews are responding to power outages this morning due to blown fuses.
Power was restored to 99% of Cobourg homes yesterday evening by approximately 8pm. The grid and feeders successfully held throughout the night, however, due to the ongoing storm, crews have reported a number of fuses have blown, impacting local streets.
Crews are mobilising this morning to make repairs in the following areas:
Power Update:
For further updates, please see the LUSI website or social media pages:
Check for Broken Meter Stack if Issues Persist:
Please note, if your meter stack has been damaged due to the storm, this will require the assistance of an electrician and an ESA approval so that LUSI staff can restore your service. The meter base connects to a pipe that goes up the side of the house – this is the meter stack. If this appears to be damaged (broken, cracked, bent over, on the ground) then an electrician needs to replace this.
If meter stacks are in working condition and customers are still experiencing an outage, please contact LUSI at 905 372 2193.
Take Caution on Roads Due to Debris:
Town of Cobourg Roads and Parks staff have been working around the clock to clear roads of downed trees, debris, and ice formation. Residents are advised to use caution if they must be on the road today. Steer clear of any roads that have road closure sigs or barricades.
