(Issued November 6, 2021 at 9 a.m. EST) – On Monday, December 6, 2021, the Council of the Town of Cobourg will hold a public meeting, pursuant to section 12 of the Development Charges Act, 1997, as amended, to present and obtain public input on the municipality’s proposed development charges (D.C) by-law and underlying background study.

The Development Charges Public Meeting will be held using a hybrid model. Members of Council will have the choice to participate in-person in Council Chambers or to participate via Electronic Participation. All Members of Staff and the Consultant will be participating via electronic attendance and delegations will be heard via electronic participation.

Please note that in-person attendance in Council Chambers by members of the public is still not permitted. The public may still view the Public Meeting live via the Town of Cobourg live stream. If you have any questions or would like to provide feedback, please email clerk@cobourg.ca.

All interested parties wishing to participate in this Public Meeting of Council via electronic attendance are invited to email clerk@cobourg.ca. Any person who participates in the meeting may make representations relating to the proposed D.C. by-law and background study.

In order that sufficient information is made available to the public, the background study has been made available online at the municipality’s website (www.cobourg.ca) on November 5, 2021. Copies of the proposed D.C. by-law and background study are also being made available as of November 5, 2021, from the Municipal Clerk at 55 King Street West, Cobourg, Ontario by calling (905) 372- 4301 ext. 4401.

Interested persons may express their comments during the public meeting or in writing, addressed to the Municipal Clerk, at the Municipal offices prior to December 3, 2021, and such written submissions will be placed before Council for the meeting.
