Cobourg, ON (July 5, 2021) – Beginning Monday, July 12, 2021 the Town of Cobourg is pleased to be reopening Victoria Hall from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. as well as other municipal buildings to the public for select in-person appointments and walk-ins depending upon the service request.
“The closure of Victoria Hall has changed how we’ve previously serviced our community,” said Tracey Vaughan, Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Cobourg. “Now that we’ve entered Step 2 of the Province’s Roadmap to Reopen we are very pleased to welcome our community back for in-person appointments within many of our municipal buildings. Our online, phone and drop-box services are still available and will continue to be offered as an alternative to coming into Victoria Hall.”
The following buildings, departments and community organizations will be re-opening to the public for select municipal services:
Victoria Hall (55 King Street West)
The Victoria Hall lobby will open to the public beginning Monday, July 12th from 10-3 p.m. and will serve as the front desk/reception providing walk-in service (no appointment necessary). Please enter through the main doors and speak to the lobby attendant who will phone the department you require service through.
Finance/Administration
Debit and cheque payments for the following transactions will be accepted. Cash will not be accepted.

Parcels and Deliveries
All deliveries to Victoria Hall can now be received through the front doors.

Virtual consultations and meetings will continue, and the following in-person services will be made available through the Building and Planning Department:

Parks, Recreation, & Facilities
The Cobourg Community Centre building will remain closed to the public until Ontario enters Step 3 of the Roadmap to Reopen plan, however the following services are permitted under provincial regulations:

Fire
The Fire Department Administration Building will re-open to the public with COVID-19 precautions in place beginning July 5, 2021 Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m... Please use main entrance, visitors will be limited to one visitor inside the lobby at a time. Visitors must follow COVID safety precautions i.e. Face covering, hand sanitizer, screening questions / sign in procedures.
Residents are encouraged to continue to access services remotely whenever possible. In-person appointments can also be made by calling the Fire Administration Building at 905-372-9789 or by emailing fire@cobourg.ca.
Library
The Cobourg Public Library will re-open to the public on Monday, July 5, 2021. The library will be open to the public during the following operational hours:
Curbside will still be offered after July 5th for anyone who wishes to continue with this service.
Art Gallery of Northumberland
Will remain closed to the public until Ontario enters Step 3 of the Roadmap to Reopen plan.
Cobourg Police Service
The Cobourg Police Service building will partially re-open on Monday, July 5th and fully re-open beginning on Monday, July 12th. Further information will be provided on their website www.cobourgpoliceservice.com and Facebook page.
Venture13 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre
The Venture13 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre remains closed to the public but, under provincial regulations, can accommodate organizations that require facility space for health and safety training.

As the Town of Cobourg prepares to reopen municipal buildings, services and programs residents are reminded that public health protocols will continue to be implemented, including screening and wearing a mask upon entry to all facilities and maintaining proper physical distancing.
