Event to take place in April during National Volunteer Week

Cobourg, ON (September 15, 2023) – The Town of Cobourg Civic Awards Committee would like to inform residents that the 21st annual Civic Awards Ceremony has been deferred to April 24, 2024, due to a shortfall of nominations.

The Civic Awards were scheduled for October 18th this year due to the Town of Cobourg’s Governance review, which is not the normal timing for the awards program. The Civic Awards ceremony has traditionally been held in April, on or near National Volunteer Week.

“The committee appreciates everyone who submitted a nomination as it is recognized that putting together a nomination for a deserving volunteer is an investment of time, but it’s an investment well-worth making,” said Beth Selby, Civic Awards Chair. All nominations received will be brought forward to the 2024 Civic Awards program.

The Committee continues to meet and is preparing for the spring event. Nominations will re-open for the 21st Annual Civic Awards early in the new year.
